Lifestyle at Abbeyfield in Leeston
We provide a peaceful, friendly atmosphere where residents live with independence, companionship and security in a family style environment. It’s a home within a home with support when you need it from our caring housekeeper staff and volunteers.
Type of accommodation
We offer affordable, high quality living for people who want to be as self-reliant as possible without the worry of maintaining their own home.
We make no capital charge
Any single or widowed person over 65 years of age who is able to care for their personal needs independently may be considered for residency.
Even if you have limited assets, if you meet the criteria for a Housing Accommodation Supplement, the weekly charge is affordable. Those with modest incomes or savings are also eligible for consideration as residents.
About this house
An on-site housekeeper ensures that the house in Flannery Street is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable.
All studios are spacious (with an ensuite) and are let unfurnished so you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home. The house has been specifically designed for us. It is level throughout, suitable for wheelchair and walker frame users.
Abbeyfield house management
The property is owned and managed by Vintage Village Trust t/a Abbeyfield Ellesmere, a registered NZ Charity (CC47915). The volunteer, non-profit management contributes to our ability to provide quality accommodation at an affordable cost. Residents have a say in day to day matters.
