Lifestyle at Masterton
Abbeyfield Masterton provides a peaceful, friendly atmosphere where residents live with independence, companionship and security in a family style environment. You have a home within a home offering support when you need it from our professional and caring house staff and volunteers.
Type of accommodation
We offer affordable, high quality living for people who want to be as self-reliant as possible without the worry of maintaining their own home so that you can enjoy peace of mind. We are currently planning to extend and redevelop our property - more news of this soon. We welcome expressions of interest from potential residents for the next 12-24 months. We also warmly invite volunteers to join our friendly committee.
Eligibility
We make no capital charge
Any single or widowed person over 65 years of age who is able to care for their personal needs independently may be considered for residency.
Even if you have limited assets, if you meet the criteria for a Housing Accommodation Supplement or Living Alone Allowance, the weekly charge will be affordable. Those with modest incomes or savings are also eligible for consideration as residents.
About this property
The house keeper ensures that the house is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable.
All studios are ensuite and all rooms are unfurnished, so you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home. The accommodation wing of the house was specifically designed and built for us. It is very accessible as it is level throughout, suitable for wheelchair and walker frame users.
Plans are underway to add further studios and replace the former vicarage with new kitchen, living and dining rooms.
Abbeyfield house management
The property is managed by Abbeyfield Masterton Inc. a registered charity. The volunteer, non-profit management contributes to our ability to provide quality accommodation at an affordable cost. Residents also have a say in the day to day running of the house.
