We offer affordable, high quality living for people who want to be as self-reliant as possible without the worry of maintaining their own home so that you can enjoy peace of mind.

 

Eligibility

We make no capital charge

Any single or widowed person over 55 years of age who is able to care for their personal needs independently may be considered for residency.

Even if you have limited assets, if you meet the criteria for a Housing Accommodation Supplement or living alone allowance, the weekly charge will be affordable. Those with modest incomes or savings are also eligible for consideration as residents. 

About this property

The on-site house keeper ensures that the house is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable.

All studios are en suite and all rooms are unfurnished, so that you can bring your own furniture, truly making it a home from home. The house was specifically designed and built for us. It is very accessible and is level throughout, suitable for wheelchair and walker frame users.

Abbeyfield house management

The property is managed by Abbeyfield Palmerston North Inc. a registered Charity. Each resident participates in the house management through their participation in the House Committee. The volunteer, non-profit management contributes to our ability to provide quality accommodation at an affordable cost.
