Today we celebrated the official opening of Abbeyfield Katikati – a wonderful new home made possible by incredible community spirit. A huge thank you to the dedicated Abbeyfield Katikati committee, who raised over $700,000 and will run the house with care and commitment. We’re also grateful to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s Affordable Housing Fund for contributing 53% of the build.  Thanks as well to the Abbeyfield NZ and Abbeyfield Properties Ltd Boards for their expertise and guidance.  This is the 16th Abbeyfield house in Aotearoa and caters for 14 residents.  It was a proud day shared with Housing Minister Chris Bishop and many local supporters and Abbeyfield representatives.  Here’s to another warm, connected community at Abbeyfield Katikati.
