Abbeyfield Nelson – Tahunanui

Abbeyfield Mata Close is situated a leisurely 10-minute walk from Nelson’s Tahunanui beach, several restaurants and cafes, a medical centre and chemist, the local library and the local community centre, which provides regular activities for seniors. A bus stop is handily located close by.

The house was opened in 2010 and caters for 11 residents. It has a north-facing aspect, so every room gets plenty of sunshine, and the rooms are double-glazed and fully insulated. The house also has a solar water heating system. There is parking available for cars and mobility scooters.

Each studio room has a patio and small garden for residents to relax in and potter about if they wish, and the house also has fruit trees and raised garden beds which provide fresh fruit and vegetables. A guest room is available for visiting friends and family to stay in.

The house is managed by Abbeyfield Nelson.
