Abbeyfield Whangārei

Abbeyfield Whangārei is situated in Kensington, which is one of the earlier settled parts of Whangārei and is about 3km from the city centre. It is close to medical services, a post office, supermarkets and various food outlets. A bus service travels along Mains Avenue.

The house is located at the rear of a long, flat, section, behind an attractive stand of mainly native mature trees, some of which are protected. The house can accommodate 12 residents and has spacious studio rooms, each with a small kitchenette. Some of the rooms have an attached conservatory and other rooms open on to a deck area. All rooms have heating and there is a fire sprinkler system. There is some on-site car parking, and some undercover parking for mobility scooters.

The house is managed by Abbeyfield Whangārei, which would like to acknowledge the support of the AK Franks Charitable Trust and the support of past and present volunteers and residents.
